BDP Ep #009 with Brooks and Amy Brinson of OmFloat

I am back after a short vacation ready to wind down the summer season and end 2016 strong.  Ready to discuss the benefits of floatation tanks.

#009 with guest Brooks and Amy Brinson. OmFloat is an alternative healing arts center located in the DC Metro area. Services include floatation tanks, mental coaching, and other healing services.

Float tanks for me have been the best environment for the deepest forms of meditation. I would highly recommend looking into your local float center or research the benefits of floating. Brooks also specializes in mental training for athletes and has taught a the Olympic Training Center.

Some history of float tanks.  (taken from wikipedia)

The isolation tank was developed in 1954 by John C. Lilly, a medical practitioner and neuropsychiatrist.[2][3][4] During his training in psychoanalysis at the US National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH), Lilly experimented with sensory deprivation. After 10 years of experimentation without taking any psychoactive substances, he tried floating in combination with a psychedelic agent, mostly LSD (at that time he was a researcher at NIMH, and LSD was legal in the US). He found that floating alone, without taking any substances, was a much better experience because of non-disturbed consciousness.[5]
